Sienna Helena Parker-Waldern

Assistant Professor in Information Systems

Welcome! My research examines how technologies enable new work and employment arrangements and the opportunities and challenges these present for workers' careers and livelihoods. Currently, I am investigating the nature of work in retirement as people transition out of full-time organizational employment and enter the platform workforce in the late career.

I received my PhD in Technology Management at UC Santa Barbara in 2026 and a BS in Learning and Organizational Change from Northwestern's School of Education and Social Policy in 2018. Between formal schooling, I worked in product, customer success, and analytics roles in various technology companies, including LinkedIn and SpaceX.
